Books

Tommy is reading the Wheel of Time (series?) I know nothing about it, except that he listens to it all of the time. And that on the way to Idaho in the car from Alabama he and his sister, Grace, probably talked about it for a probably a good hour and a half. Very Sci-Fi!

I am reading "How to be a Hepburn in a Hilton World." Let me just say that the title speaks for itself. and everyone woman should make their daughter read this!

My mother sent me a nook for my birthday, and I literally haven't put it down. I have read this series called The Razorland Triology by Ann Aguirre. Its a post apocalyptic world (like 20+ years post), where everyone lives underground and nobody really remembers or knows what happened up above. The world is infested with "Freaks" which are like this non human, zombie, crazy type things. The main character, Deuce, is kicked out of her underground group and slowly but surely learns the truth about the world before, and about the "Freaks". I don't know why I am into apocalyptic things lately..Horde (The third and final book) hasn't been released yet- but I am anxiously awaiting it coming to me in October!

I also read The Last Survivors Series by Susan Beth Pfeffer. This series is also apocalyptic. In this book, a meteor strikes the moon with more force and momentum then NASA expected. It was so forceful that it knocked the moon way closer to earth, setting in motion a string of natural disasters. Tsunamis destroy the coastlines, earthquakes flatten cities, and volcanoes begin erupting all over the world. Miranda has to try and help her family survive all winter with no power, no food, no friends, and no contact with the outside world.

Tommy is reading The Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan. Still. He reads more than I do, even though I may have completed more books. Tom is on book ten of fourteen. They are each 900 something pages long, and he gets frustrated with it sometimes because some of the characters are so boring! But he loves the main character so much that he keeps reading!! I think he will be relieved when he is done

I just barely finished Looking for Alaska by John Green. I've heard so much about this Author, and seen  a lot of really cool quotes by him that people are sharing on pinterest. I wouldn't recommend this book because its inappropriate (on several levels..) but also a book that you HAVE to know the end to. Its about Pudge, who attends a boarding school in Alabama and makes lots of new friends, something he hasn't had before. When a car accident ends in the death of one of his new friends, he and the others try to determine how and why she died by playing detective.
